Battle Words Concept

While Battle Words never saw the light of day, I worked side-by-side with the client to give this rough and clunky game a modern look and smooth user experience. I helped facilitate client meetings extracting design requirements, answering questions, and guiding the UX process with thorough explanation.

UX Flow

Even in the middle of development there wasn’t a UX flow document everyone could easily point to and have a discussion. But once I generated one communication and brainstorming between the client and dev team became much easier.

Art Evolution

Rather than make the mistake of the previous developer, I sat down with the client and asked them questions about personal expectations vs. the audience who would be playing their game. From there I began to generate ideas, gather reference, and show progress early and often to get client buy in.

Final Menus and Animation

Because the client provided their own wires, I created comps for each screen, including a step-by-step of the tutorial flow. Animations followed the comps and helped sell my ideas such as the thought bubbles over player portraits.
